The e-Call Box originates from the experience acquired by Magneti Marelli in the area of telematics used for safety, and was designed in full compliance of automotive requirements.
In case of crash or tipping over of the vehicle, which are detected thanks to integration with the onboard network (CAN), the e-Call function makes it possible for an automatic emergency call to be made. The user can also make a manual call in case of a vehicle malfunction.
Magneti Marelli actively cooperates with both institutions and with carmakers for the validation of the Pan-European e-Call. Its experience in the adopted technological solutions (specifically in Glonass, GPS, Galileo localization systems) ensures the coverage of both the European and the Russian market.
