Exhaust manifolds are components whose important task is channelling the exhaust gases towards the emissions reduction and silencing systems.
Exhaust manifolds have to be designed and validated with specific procedures since they represent an important element which can also affect certain the engine performances.
To satisfy the goals of guaranteeing the engine performances on one side and satisfy the emission specifications on the other side, the last generation of exhaust manifolds (stainless steel Stamped or Fabricated) are integrated with the catalytic converter, positioned as close as possible to the engine (Close Coupled Catalyst, CCC), to ensure a fast light-off of the converter, minimum weights and compact solutions.
