Battery Management System

The battery management system is used to control the battery back on a HEV-BEV vehicle, with the management of the cell array and of all diagnostic and safety functions for the handling of high voltage onboard the vehicle and the cell-balancing programmes.

This solution guarantees the following advantages:

• Scalability of the controlled pack in terms of number of cells and DC voltage (up to 600V)
• Double supply from the battery pack and from the auxiliary 12V battery
• Active and passive cell balancing functions (based on the specific Battery Monitoring Cells)
• Real-time diagnostics of overcurrents and overvoltages
• Real-time diagnostics of pack insulation loss
• Onboard humidity, smoke, gas and fire sensors
• Interlock system
• Up to four CAN lines available with Wake-up on CAN functions
• Tri-axial (x,y,z) accelerometer for the crash-detecting safety function
• Calendar Chip
