The Body Computer is an electronic control unit that carries out, above all, the gateway function for the management of the CAN network at both high and low speeds.

 

In addition, the Body Computer is also assigned the following tasks: internal/external lighting control, immobiliser, RF receiver for Remote Key Control, fuel level acquisition, diagnostics, management of relays and sensors, power distribution.

 

Magneti Marelli believes that the Body Computer, due to its technical characteristics, is well suited for the integration of additional functions, such as TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), the management of parking sensors and Energy Management.

 

This approach contains costs and at the same time increases the functions available onboard the vehicle.
