The high-end infotelematic systems manufactured by Magneti Marelli are much more sophisticated than the simple satellite navigators, since they offer perfectly integrated entertainment (radio, CD, DVD, satellite radio, digital TV), navigation, telematics and telephony functions.
The last-generation platform offers even better performances thanks to the use of an automotive (in other words designed specifically for in-car use) 30-GB hard disk.
Navigation
The HDD contains the entire continental (Europe or U.S.) map, and allows for individual nations to be updated directly from a CD; it also offers the juke-box function, which provides up to 180 hours of music, as a result it is more practical than the traditional CD-Changer.
The adoption of the hard disk also allows a considerable reduction in route calculation times and absolutely excellent performances.
By means of a built-in 3D graphics processor, the navigation system represents maps with a 3D prospective view.
Radio
To improve reception and guarantee a high quality of the radio signal, the radio is equipped with “full diversity” with the use of three tuners, one of which is dedicated to the non-stop reception of traffic information (RDS-TMC).
Display
The system can be fitted with a TFT display of varying size and resolution, which guarantees the highest image sharpness and definition.
