Control logics

Magneti Marelli know-how in the field of electronics applied to the vehicle, has allowed the development of the control logics Synaptic Damping Control:

Absorption and road irregularities

The system improves the isolation of the passengers from the irregularities of the road surface, because it processes the signals of vertical acceleration coming from the front wheels.

The electronically controlled shock absorbers are regulated so that they minimize the shaking, roll and pitch movements of the vehicle body.

Obstacle clearance

The system recognizes the presence of an obstacle, such as a hole or a bump, and controls the damping such that the vertical acceleration values of the front wheels do not exceed certain thresholds.

The electronic shock absorbers are regulated so that they minimize the counterstroke on the vehicle body and to damp as much as possible the wheels ocillation. Comfort of the passengers and road holding are thus optimized.

Lateral dynamics

During turn-in, the electronic shock absorbers are regulated so that they reduce the roll speed of the vehicle body and they convey to the driver a high steering feeling and to the vehicle greater stability.

Longitudinal dynamics

The system minimizes the pitch speed of the vehicle body and offers a higher comfort level also during steering, acceleration, braking and gear change manoeuvres.
