In Diesel applications it is important to optimise the air flow at the cylinder inlet to maximise the charged air and to generate the right air motion (swirl) inside the cylinder for a better combustion in all engine operating conditions.

 

Magneti Marelli supplies a wide range of intake manifolds for many Diesel applications, in aluminium or plastic, with were requested the swirl throttles, electronically controlled.

 

The Magneti Marelli plastic intake manifolds are produced with thermoplastic material and provided with swirl throttles, which are useful to improve performance and emissions in Diesel engines.

 

Throttle actuation is with a DC-motor with embedded electronics for integrated position control and diagnostic.
