Double-tube Shock Absorbers

This is the most traditional and famous shock absorber configuration.

Thanks to its simplicity and versatility, it can be widely used, from the city car to heavy vehicles.

The range is structured in standard “sizes” in order to optimise weight and cost. Usually, the diameter of the internal pressure tube identifies the “size”.

The double-tube shock absorber consists of two concentric tubes.

The space between them is partially taken up by nitrogen in order to compensate the stem volume in its telescopic movements carried out by the suspension.

This type of shock absorber features a minimum fixed axial dimension and allows a high flexibility in defining the dampening characteristics.

The presence of low-pressure nitrogen minimises the cavitation phenomena and the formation of emulsion, resulting in an excellent performance in the main rear suspension applications.

This configuration features high design and installation flexibility, with a wide range of fixing systems for installation on the vehicle.

27 and 30-mm shock absorbers

The 27 and 30-mm diameter shock absorbers offer performances suitable to passenger cars, and are mainly used in rear suspension models.

The dampening levels are especially important in these applications, and they can be easily personalised according to model and engine type.

This family of shock absorbers is provided as standard equipment with pressurized nitrogen at medium/low levels

35-mm shock absorbers

Shock absorbers with 35 mm diameter are used in large-size passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles.

Their characteristics are the high dampening capacity and reliability in case of poor road conditions.

They can be employed on a large number of models and applications.

The pressurised versions features excellent behaviour on the road since it limits the emulsion and cavitation phenomena.

45-mm shock absorbers

Shock absorbers with 45-mm diameter are the most suited ones for heavy vehicles.

They are extremely sturdy and suited to a heavy-duty use.

They are employed in a large number of applications for buses and trucks, and they feature a wide range of alternatives to satisfy the requirements of suspensions for heavy vehicles.
