China EV recharging network continues to expand
China continues to roll out its electric vehicle recharging infrastructure as the central government looks to maintain strong growth for new energy vehicle sales.
Data released by the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance showed the number of charging unit exceeded 1m in June which is 69% higher than at the same time last year.
This includes 412,000 public charging piles and 591,000 private piles. Most of the private piles, or 236,000 units, use alternate current and 175,000 use direct current.
Ten provinces and municipalities account for over 75% of this recharging network, including the Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin municipalities and Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong, Hebei, Hubei, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces.
