First debut on the road for the Cupra Formentor plug-in hybrid
The Cupra Formentor has made its dynamic debut around the roads of Cap de Formentor, Mallorca, from which it takes its name.
The plug-in hybrid SUV is the first model developed specifically by Cupra and made its public static debut at Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.
Mixing the technology of an advanced high-performance plug-in hybrid petrol engine with the high-torque characteristics of an electric motor the Cupra Formentor delivers a total output of 245PS and thanks to the integrated battery pack could be drive in pure electric mode for up to 50km in the new WLTP cycle.
The car is equipped with a dual-clutch DSG transmission, progressive steering, intelligent DCC chassis setup and differential lock system.
The Cupra Formentor is developed to offer the highest levels of dynamics, but the combination of electric and combustion energy also allows to reduce the overall fuel consumption of the vehicle, and significantly lowers carbon emissions.
According to rumors the Cupra Formentor will be on sale starting from the beginning of 2020.
